Man United can only move for a new first-choice goalkeeper this summer if Andre Onana leaves the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The Cameroon international, 29, is wanted by Ligue 1 side AS Monaco after facing criticism at Old Trafford.
Sources say Man United value Onana at between £35-40million as they remain open to moving him on this summer.
However, the shot-stopper will have to sanction any potential move – with speculation suggesting he would not be open to leaving for Monaco.
Man United will accept £40m Onana bid
Aston Villa goalkeeper and World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez has been widely linked with a move to Man United this summer.
But Football Insider revealed last week that Martinez has his “heart set” on joining Atletico Madrid, even though United’s interest remains alive.

United will first have to get Onana off the books as the club feel the pinch after a dismal 2024-25 campaign which saw them finish 15th and lose in the Europa League final.

The Red Devils will also need to add a new back-up goalkeeper with Tom Heaton out of contract later this month.
Onana made 50 appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign but dropped a series of costly clangers.
He kept 11 clean sheets and conceded 65 goals as Ruben Amorim struggled to transform fortunes at Old Trafford.

Man United set stance on £85m Ekitike swoop
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (17 June) that Man United are unlikely to pursue a summer deal for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
Frankfurt want close to £85million for the France Under-21 international – and the Red Devils cannot afford a deal at that price.
The German outfit are not in a position where they must sell Ekitike this summer and therefore are able to hold out for that figure.
