Tottenham are preparing to make a move for Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho this summer, according to their former scout.

Mick Brown, who also worked as the chief scout at Man United for over a decade and remains very well-connected at his former clubs, exclusively told Football Insider that the 20-year-old will leave Old Trafford to join the highest bidder.

The deal is seen as a positive one for all three parties as United want to sell, Tottenham want to strengthen out wide, and he wants to stay in England.

Brown told Football Insider on 22 June that Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League and has told his agent of his desire ahead of the transfer window.

However, the winger’s future will depend on which club are willing to pay the highest fee, and no formal contact is believed to have been made so far.

This comes after Football Insider revealed that Man United want to kickstart a bidding war, with the price tag starting at £50million amid interest from Spurs and Chelsea among others.

Tottenham make Alejandro Garnacho transfer plan

Brown told Football Insider on 27 May that Amorim is forcing Garnacho out of Man United and has been trying to shift the winger for “months”.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Old Trafford during the club’s most successful period, insisted that United are aiming to raise funds to spend on replacing the winger.

“Tottenham have been keeping an eye on Garnacho’s situation,” he told Football Insider.

“It’s a move that could suit all three parties because Man United want to sell him, Tottenham will strengthen their team, and he wants to stay in the Premier League.

“But at the end of the day, it will all be decided by the money on offer.

“In normal circumstances, you’d be totally against selling one of your young players to a direct rival.

“For Man United, they don’t care where he goes as long as it’s the side offering the most money.

“They want to use the money to fund his replacement, so the more they get in the more they’ll be able to spend on whoever it is they bring in.

“Whether it’s Mbeumo, which is a deal they want to do, or somebody else.

“Whether Tottenham will be the side who come up with the most money, I’m not sure, because you’ve got the likes of Chelsea interested and we know how they can spend.

“But it’s a move they’re interested in and they’ll go for it if they think it’s one they can get done.

“When the window opens properly, I think that’s when something will happen because as soon as somebody makes an offer it wakes everybody else up.”

Manor Solomon update emerges after Thomas Frank decision

Brown told Football Insider on 19 June that Thomas Frank will decide Solomon’s future during pre-season after he gets a look at how he performs in training.

Frank will assess the Israel international’s ability and where he fits in his plans before deciding whether to accept offers amid growing interest.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Burnley and Leeds want to sign Solomon after Scott Parker’s side joined the ongoing race for his signature.
