Liverpool’s transfer business is already in full swing, but the Reds are far from done. With Milos Kerkez close to sealing his move to Anfield, the club’s next priority has come into sharper focus — a new center-forward is on the menu, as per Theo Squires.
The 21-year-old Hungarian left-back completed the first part of his medical on Monday and is expected to be officially announced as a Liverpool player on Tuesday.
The Reds agreed a £40 million deal with Bournemouth last week, and Kerkez’s five-year contract should be wrapped up soon after his media duties and the final part of his medical are complete.
Kerkez’s arrival will address Liverpool’s need at left-back, especially with Andy Robertson considering a move to Atletico Madrid.
But this is no summer for resting on laurels or admiring spreadsheets. Liverpool’s transfer plans are as fluid as a Thiago turn in midfield — and the next big move is pointing straight toward the top of the pitch.

Arne Slot plans next transfer move for Liverpool
Head coach Arne Slot has made it clear — Liverpool need more goals, and they need them from everywhere.
While players like Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz have chipped in creatively, the club wants a more natural finisher leading the line.
Alexander Isak is reportedly at the top of the wishlist, but Newcastle’s price tag might make even John Henry pause mid-sip of his coffee.
Hugo Ekitike and Julian Alvarez are also in the conversation, with Ekitike standing out creatively last season — though that stat may come with a Ligue 1-sized grain of salt.
Versatility is also a keyword in the transfer room. As one Merseyside source put it: “Liverpool want versatile forwards, they want young forwards, someone who can sort of play all three positions maybe.”
It’s no wonder Lyon’s Malick Fofana is also being watched closely — even if that name feels more suited to a Bond villain than a Liverpool winger.
Sales will help fund these moves. Darwin Nunez could be on his way out, with Napoli circling. Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota, and even Ben Doak are names that could also make way if the right offer lands.
Slot knows what he wants in a striker. “The No. 9 should be a facilitator, like a winger, but a winger and a No. 9 should also score goals,” he said.
It’s a simple ask, really — just be everything, everywhere, all at once.
