West Ham’s asking price revealed as Lazio hover

The first part of the rebuild process involves selling players who are either ‘high value’ or surplus to requirements, to clear what Potter has described as an ‘overly large’ squad and bring in cash for the transfer pot. It would appear that the price has been set for one who comes into the second category, having been left out of Matchday squads during the latter half of the season despite being a [Prague](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-win-the-europa-conference-league/) trophy winner.

From [thelazialai.com](https://thelaziali.com/2025/06/23/west-ham-price-emerson-palmieri-lazio/) comes the report that West Ham have set their price for Emerson Palmieri as the club deal with interest from AS Roma and their head coach Maurizio Sarri, who no doubt fancies a reunion with the player who worked with him at Chelsea:

_“The 30-year-old has been at West Ham since the summer of 2022, and his contract will expire in 12 months, but it includes an option for another year. The..newspaper claims that the Hammers would be willing to sell Emerson for €10 million.”_

Graham Potter dropped Emerson in favour of Ollie Scarles for his first game in charge of West Ham and used Wan-Bissaka on the left instead of giving the Brazilian an outing, so clearly the writing is on the wall.

€10 million – about eight million pounds – won’t buy a direct replacement but Emerson’s contract situation means it is better to get something now rather than let him leave on a ‘free’ next summer.

Lazio have to choose between the Brazilian, Fiorentina’s Fabiano Parisi and Crystal Palace’s Ben Chilwell. Emerson is apparently at the top of the list so news will follow should they proceed to test the water with an offer.
