‘The problem is…’: Pablo Sarabia left Vitor Pereira with one ‘regret’ after Wolves transfer exit

Vitor Pereira worked with Pablo Sarabia for six months before the Spaniard left Wolves.

The attacking midfielder was out of the door once his contract expired, serving the Old Gold for two and a half years of his career.

Sarabia sent a touching goodbye message to Wolves fans as his exit was confirmed.

Shortly after bidding farewell to WV1, Sarabia signed for Qatari club Al-Arabi, where he will reconnect with his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Marco Verratti.

Vitor Pereira has one regret about Pablo Sarabia

Though the 33-year-old wasn’t a starter, Wolves will find it hard to replace Sarabia due to the quality he could produce on his day.

A product of Real Madrid’s academy, the Spain international brought a high level of skill to the Wolves squad that was often shown through his playmaking ability.

In an interview with Marca, Pereira described Sarabia as a ‘very intelligent’ figure, but couldn’t avoid mentioning the Spaniard’s weaknesses.

“Pablo is a very intelligent person and a very talented player. He also understands the game very well. The problem is that the Premier League is a very physical league.”

The Wolves boss continued by admitting that he has one regret when it comes to Sarabia, revealing his wish that their paths would’ve crossed sooner.

“It’s a pleasure for me to have coached him; my only regret is not having managed him when he was younger.”

Sarabia joined Wolves at the age of 30, seeing the playmaker sign for the Old Gold in the latter stages of his career after leaving PSG.

Sarabia’s Wolves career in numbers

Wolves fans found Sarabia frustrating at times, but when the Spaniard was in full flow, it was difficult for the opposition to get near him.

Such makes him a difficult profile to replace, as the package of his skill, reading of the game, and experience is hard to find.

Some times were hard and some were real highs, most notably the 33-year-old’s role in Wolves’ last-gasp win over Tottenham during the 2023/24 campaign.

Sarabia leaves Molineux having contributed to 20 goals in 77 appearances in all competitions.

The versatile attacker will now enjoy the latter stages of his career in the Middle East with Al-Arabi, with whom he signed a two-year deal.
