Giants fans who want to buy the Madden NFL 26 video game already know they’ll have to see their old pal Saquon Barkley on the cover.
And now, they’re also faced with the reality that the Giants, at this early juncture, have the game’s lowest team rating — 75, which is one point lower than the Cardinals.
The Chiefs and 49ers share the top spot, as both have a 92 rating. Oddly, the Jets are tied with the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles. Both teams have an 86 rating.
The top 10 looks like this: Chiefs, 49ers, Ravens, Dolphins, Cowboys, Lions, Bengals, Browns, Eagles and Jets.
The Giants are coming off a 3-14 debacle of a season in 2024, so it’s no surprise that they’re the NFL’s lowest-rated team right now, at least in terms of a Madden rating.
The Giants tied with the Titans and Browns for the NFL’s worst record in 2024. But they weren’t able to draft quarterback Cam Ward — even though they tried to trade up for him — because they lost the strength-of-schedule tiebreaker to the Titans, who took Ward at No. 1.
The Giants picked edge rusher Abdul Carter at No. 3. Later in Round 1, they traded up nine spots for Jaxson Dart, grabbing him at No. 25 and dealing away two third-round picks in the process.
As for the Madden NFL 26 game itself, it will be released Aug. 14, about three weeks after the Giants report to training camp, on July 22.
