Rogers enjoyed a superb season, scoring 14 goals and setting up 15 more in all competitions for Unai Emery’s team.
The Halesowen-born forward, who joined Villa from Middlesbrough for an initial £8million 18 months ago, has been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year Award.
Midfielder Onana, who last summer became Villa’s record £50m signing, reckons the 22-year-old England international is only just getting started.
"He deserves all that (the recognition)," Onana told the Inside Scoop podcast. "He's had a tremendous season. He did a double-double, in terms of goals and assists. He's a really talented guy, skilful.
“I call him Star Boy, because that's what he is. For him, the sky's the limit. If he keeps his head down and keeps working hard, not much can stop him."
Onana is preparing for his second season at Villa following his record-breaking move from Everton.
The 23-year-old Belgium international is believed to have turned down an approach from Manchester United in order to join Villa.
Speaking about his move now, he said: “I’m not going to go into detail but people rang my phone. Even just before I gave the go-ahead to Aston Villa people rang my phone and were saying: ‘You know, we might have something for you’.
“But I am a man of my word and once I give my word I will go through it. Obviously it is really flattering but I am still learning, still young, still learning, becoming better day by day. There is still time.”
Onana continued: “Villa was the perfect fit for me. In my opinion Unai Emery is one of the best in the industry.
“The detail, tactically, I have never seen anything like that before. I am really fortunate to work someone like that on a daily basis. For me, it was the right fit.”
