SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Park Rapids’ Anna Eckmann concluded her sophomore season as a member of the Augustana University women’s team by competing in the NCAA Division II Central Regionals at Kickingbird Golf Club in Edmond, Oklahoma, on May 5-7.
Eckmann was the Vikings’ No. 4 golfer, tying for 69th place out of 93 golfers with rounds of 79, 77 and 75 for a three-day total of 231. Arkansas-Fort Smith’s Ali Perry led the field with rounds of 72, 66 and 71 for a 209 on the par-70 course. Augustana finished 14th in the 18-team field with rounds of 298, 301 and 298 for a 897. Central Missouri won the title with rounds of 285, 273 and 287 for an 845.

In the spring opener, Eckmann tied for 32nd place as Augustana’s No. 7 golfer with rounds of 84 and 83 for a 167 at the Augustana Spring Fling at the Palm Desert (California) Golf Course on March 13-14. The Vikings placed fourth out of seven teams with rounds of 332 and 323 for a 655. Rollins won the title with a pair of 306s for a 612 while Saint Leo’s Olivia Deckins topped the 46-golfer field with rounds of 71 and 78 for a 149 on the par-72 course.
At the Hardscramble Country Club Invitational at Fort Smith, Arkansas, on March 24-25, Eckmann was Augustana’s No. 3 golfer with rounds of 83, 82 and 81 for a 246 to tie for 53rd place out of 91 golfers. The Vikings shared sixth place with rounds of 319, 307 and 315 for a 941 in the 17-team field. Henderson State took first with a 903 (304, 302, 297) while NW Oklahoma State’s Romane Lacoste led the field with rounds of 73, 76 and 69 for a 218.
Eckmann was the team’s No. 5 golfer by tying for 30th place with rounds of 80 and 86 for a 166 at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Preview at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri, on March 31-April 1. Augustana carded rounds of 305 and 321 for a 626 to lead the 13-team field. Minnesota State’s Victoria Woytassek topped the 80-golfer field with rounds of 72 and 78 for a 150 on the par-72 course.
At the Augustana Spring Invitational at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls on April 7-8, the Vikings led the 11-team field with a pair of 316s for a 362. Eckmann was Augustana’s No. 4 golfer with rounds of 78 and 82 for a 160 to tie for ninth place among 70 golfers. Sioux Falls’ Maggie Veenendall took first with rounds of 78 and 73 for a 151 on the par-72 setting.
The Wildcat Invitational at the Wayne (Nebraska) Country Club saw Augustana place third with rounds of 322 and 316 for a 638 on April 14-15. Wayne State topped the 14-team field with rounds of 322 and 312 for a 634. Eckmann was the Vikings’ No. 2 golfer with rounds of 84 and 75 for a 159 to share seventh place. Teammate Shannon McCormick was the medalist with rounds of 76 and 78 for a 154 as 77 golfers competed.
Augustana claimed runner-up honors at the NSIC Championships at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex on April 25-27. Eckmann had three consecutive 80s for a 240 as the Vikings’ No. 3 golfer to place 15th overall out of 58 competitors. Augustana had rounds of 314, 309 and 309 for a 932 as Minnesota State led the way with rounds of 300, 305 and 316 for a 921 in the 12-team tournament. Minnesota State’s Emerson Garlie led the field after rounds of 72, 73 and 73 for a 218.
In 17 81-hole rounds, Eckmann had an 80.5 average.
