Newcastle United are yet to officially announce their away and third kits for the 2025-26 campaign.
Newcastle United’s polarising blue third shirt is reportedly set to be released on August 15.
Fans have been divided in recent days after leaked images surfaced of Newcastle’s kit for next season. The traditional black and white home shirt has already been released and was worn for the final-day defeat to Everton.
NewcastleWorld received information earlier this year that the third kit was set to implement features from the 1997-98 season’s blue, orange and green away strip. The viral image that did the rounds at the back end of last week shows a lighter colour of blue but, noticeably the same “black shield" behind the club crest.
Some fans have raved about the design and others not so much - with the expected green away strip also splitting the fan base. This is Adidas’ second crack at Newcastle’s jerseys since returning as supplier in a multi-million-pound deal last year.
August 15 release date
TikTok account AdamTheCCO - who specialises in sports marketing - is claiming August 15 as the official date. A huge day for Adidas will also see Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa release kits.
Newcastle’s home shirt is prices at £85, with an authentic “matchday” version price at a steep £120. A long-sleeve version will also set fans back £90 if they wish to keep warm during the winter months.
Peter Silverstone on Adidas deal
Peter Silverstone, Newcastle’s Chief Commercial Officer, outlined the importance of growing the club’s revenue streams. He said after the Adidas deal was announced last year: “If you look at retail and commercial revenues separately, then it’s pretty easy to increase your retail revenues when you don’t have any. That’s the starting point, really.
“Bring retail in-house, and build a product range with Adidas, and outside of Adidas, that reflects the demands of your fans. Bring in product that they can buy, and then build retail revenues from there. We’ve already discussed bringing everything in-house - we will now build our own retail business.
“Retail is not just Adidas and kits of course, it’s caps, bags, calendars, board games, golf products. Whatever the fan is willing to buy, we’ll try to find for them.”
