The epic playoff run for the Indiana Pacers came crashing down in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Indiana couldn't overcome the top-seeded Thunder in the final game, and they remain without an NBA title.
Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton left the game early with an Achilles injury, and the team couldn't recover. But the playoff run that the team went on was inspiring, and not all should be lost from this.
Many around the NBA have marveled at the Pacers' opportunity, and it was special to watch. The team may not have won the title, but they won the hearts of many around the game.
Former NBA center and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to discuss the outcome of the game. Despite the loss in the NBA Finals, Perkins was still proud of the playoff run for Indiana.
"Major props to the Indiana Pacers organization and their fanbase, Game 6, my god, that was crazy...the Indiana Pacers are not losers, they still had one of the best runs in NBA history. Although they didn't complete the mission, for them to be the underdog in this playoff run and what they did, knocking off top dogs...and doing it the right way."
