Real Madrid have placed a £77 million (€90 million) price tag on Brazilian winger Rodrygo, as speculation over his future intensifies ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Spanish outletCadena SER.
The 24-year-old, a crucial figure in Los Blancos’ recent dominance both domestically and in Europe, is attracting serious interest from Arsenal, with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain also monitoring the situation closely.
Rodrygo joined Real Madrid from Santos in 2019 for €45 million and has since played a key role in the club’s successes, winning three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies. He enjoyed a strong 2024/25 campaign, registering 14 goals and 11 assists across 52 appearances. However, the arrival of Kylian Mbappé and the continued rise of Vinícius Júnior have pushed Rodrygo down the pecking order, particularly on the left flank, his preferred position.
Reports suggest that Rodrygo is growing frustrated with his lack of guaranteed starts, particularly as Madrid transition under new head coach Xabi Alonso. While Alonso has reiterated that “Rodrygo is a Real Madrid player,” he also acknowledged the challenges the forward faced last season.

Arsenal, under manager Mikel Arteta and recently appointed sporting director Andrea Berta, are believed to be leading the race for Rodrygo’s signature. The Gunners see him as a dynamic and versatile option capable of operating across the front three. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, exploratory talks began as early as May, confirming Arsenal’s “genuine interest.”

However, the financial package required to sign the Brazilian star presents a challenge. Alongside the £77m transfer fee, Rodrygo is reportedly demanding a net salary of €12 million per season, around £206,000 per week, a figure that would make him Arsenal’s highest-paid player and could disrupt the club’s current wage structure.

Real Madrid remain firm in their valuation but could become more flexible later in the window, especially as they continue reshaping the squad under Alonso. While Diario AS claim Madrid may hold out for €100 million (£85.7m),The Mirror suggests a deal could be done for as little as £70 million depending on market conditions and Rodrygo’s stance.
Rodrygo’s immediate focus remains on the FIFA Club World Cup, though his limited involvement including being benched during Madrid’s 3-1 semi-final win over CF Pachuca has fuelled exit rumours. Despite the uncertainty, sources close to the player say he is yet to make a definitive decision, and a stay at the Bernabéu remains possible if he is guaranteed a more prominent role next season.
Arsenal’s pursuit may also depend on other factors, including the outcome of their interest in RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. Some reports even suggest that a move for Rodrygo could force the Gunners to consider selling Gabriel Martinelli to balance both finances and squad depth on the left wing.
