Leeds United virtually told to pursue other transfer targets by title-winner - Report

Leeds United had Manor Solomon to thank for clinching the league title in the dying moments against Plymouth Argyle, but a permanent deal doesn’t look like it’s going to follow, despite his popularity amongst the fanbase.

Daniel Farke will be expecting the second signing of his summer window to be confirmed imminently in centre-back Jaka Bijol, but more is expected as we approach July.

Attacking additions alongside Lukas Nmecha’s free transfer are a must, with Leeds currently without one of their key players that helped them to promotion – Manor Solomon.

Manor Solomon reveals Leeds United transfer stance following Tottenham’s Thomas Frank appointment

Leeds didn’t hold a buy option in the loan agreement when they signed Solomon from Spurs, and it means that if they wished to sign him this summer, it wouldn’t have been on their pre-agreed terms.

Instead, the club have seen the winger’s circumstances change quite drastically after 10 goals and 12 assists in the Championship, now looking to force his way back into the plans in North London.

LeedsLive have now claimed that the Israel international intends to prove his worth to newly appointed Spurs manager Thomas Frank next month when pre-season commences for Leeds’ Premier League rivals.

Solomon was signed by Spurs on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk and would therefore represent ‘pure profit’ for their PSR calculations, but at present, the winger wishes to stay put for the 25/26 campaign.

A return to Tottenham sees Solomon able to compete in the Champions League right away after Ange Postecoglou’s Europa League triumph over Manchester United last month.

Leeds United told to move on from Manor Solomon interest – if there was any

It’s hard to say whether Leeds were actually keen on re-signing Solomon, because it all hinged on his and Spurs’ stance about moving permanently to Elland Road.

Daniel Levy holds the cards on his asking price, and that is obviously bad news for anyone trying to sign him, given the chance to maximise profit won’t be passed up by the Spurs chairman.

Leeds have essentially been told here to look at other targets, and that isn’t a bad thing, because we can now attract players that previously weren’t available to us when we signed Solomon on loan as a Championship club.

His loan was incredibly successful in getting us back to the top flight, and if he features at Elland Road next season for Spurs, he’ll likely get a good reception.
