Alex Caruso Clears The Air About Controversial Championship Comments

Alex Caruso of the Oklahoma City Thunder was celebrating his Finals win on Sunday night and turning a few heads with his comments.

Following the Thunder’s big win over the Indiana Pacers, Caruso said, “Yeah, now I got a real one – now no one can say anything.”

This was a reference to this first championship with the Los Angeles Lakers, which was won in the bubble in Orlando during the bizarre, unique 2020 playoffs.

Following that statement, Caruso hopped on X to add more context and make it clear that he was just joking around.

“I had 3 beers already, it’s SARCASM!! -two time,” Caruso posted on X.

Back in 2020, Caruso was a crucial part of the Lakers’ run through the bubble on the way to their 17th banner.

He didn’t stay with the Lakers for much longer and moved to the Chicago Bulls in 2021-22.

He was there for a few seasons before being traded to the Thunder.

When arriving in Oklahoma, Caruso was seen as a veteran player who could bring plenty of expertise, experience, and defensive power.

That is exactly what he has done.

He has been viewed as a seasoned star who knows a thing or two about battling through the playoffs.

Again and again during the postseason, Caruso has shown his value and was a vital part of the team’s win on Sunday night.

He posted 10 points, three steals, and one block against the Pacers during Game 7.

At first, some people thought he was throwing shade at his former team, but Caruso has made it clear that he was simply being sarcastic.

Caruso still has love for his Lakers teammates as well as the men he won with on Sunday night.
