Football can often feel like a lonely world, especially when you’re away from the pitch for an extended period.

Paul Pogba knows that all too well, having served a doping ban that kept him out of competitive action for nearly two years.

His second stint at Juventus fizzled out in disappointing fashion, with the Frenchman now closing in on a move to AS Monaco.

A remarkable return for a player eyeing Champions League football after such a long layoff.

During that time, Pogba kept active.

He reunited off the pitch alongside former Manchester United players, which reignited some unfounded rumours about a potential return to Old Trafford.

But what surprised many observers was just how little visibility or connection he had with Juventus during the ordeal.

Now, Pogba has gone public with his frustrations, accusing Juventus of offering no support during his darkest days.

Speaking to TF1, via GianlucaDiMarzio.com, the 32-year-old said: “My children were at school near the training centre, and I walked past it every day.

“It was too difficult.

“I thought I was at war against anti-doping, not against Juventus.

“I asked the club for the possibility of having massages and an athletic trainer, but I was not granted it.

“I had the right, and I was always part of the team.

“They were not very kind to me, they did not support me, and I was shocked.

“I did not understand why.”

While his relationship with United ended in controversy, Pogba has remained connected to the club.

Something he didn’t quite experience with Juventus.

From Rio Ferdinand suggesting he train at Carrington to subtle praise for players like Amad, Pogba always found a way to stay linked to United.

His experience is an example to United’s reputation for maintaining relationships with ex-players – something fans continue to respect.
