LeBron James Gets Booed and Heckled in New York After Fanatics Fest

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was in New York this weekend at Fanatics Fest. He taped a live version of "The Shop" and "Mind the Game" on Saturday.

James, the leading scorer in NBA history, was cheered loudly by fans at Fanatics Fest on Saturday.

However, the Lakers forward didn't receive the same reception while walking in the streets of New York.

TMZ posted a video on Sunday of James getting booed and heckled by New Yorkers. One fan can be heard saying, "You'll never be (Michael) Jordan or Kobe (Bryant)."

James, 40, didn't talk back to the hecklers. He just walked into the building he was heading toward.

The Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of this year’s playoffs in five games. James averaged 25.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.8 blocks per game in the five-game series. He suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee in Game 5.

James is the oldest active player in the NBA. He averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 blocks per game for the Lakers this season in 70 games.

Arguably the best player of all time, James has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers (twice), the Miami Heat and the Lakers. He has career averages of 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks.

James' team, the Lakers, was in the news last week, as the Buss family entered an agreement to sell the majority ownership of the Lakers to Mark Walter for $10 billion.

Walter now owns the Lakers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
