Pacers Tyrese Haliburton Tore Achilles In Game 7 Of NBA Finals

Tyrese Haliburton, the Indiana Pacers’ star point guard, suffered a devastating torn Achilles tendon during the opening quarter of Game 7 in the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The injury occurred as Haliburton attempted a drive to the basket, collapsing to the floor without contact.

Seen visibly frustrated and in pain, he was helped off the court and did not return to the game.

The Pacers ultimately fell to the Thunder 103-91, ending their championship aspirations.

Haliburton had been the driving force behind Indiana’s improbable postseason run, averaging 17.7 points and a playoff-leading 9.0 assists per game.

His clutch performances, including several game-winning shots, had cemented his status as one of the league’s emerging superstars.

However, this injury not only ended his incredible Finals run but also casts doubt on his availability for the 2025-26 season.

Despite the emotional and physical toll, Haliburton’s resilience and competitive spirit have been widely praised.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle summed up the loss, saying:

“He authored one of the great individual playoff runs in the history of the NBA, with dramatic play after dramatic play. It was just something that no one’s ever seen.”

The injury leaves a significant gap in the Pacers’ lineup and clouds their offseason outlook.

For Haliburton, a long road to recovery begins, but if his postseason performance is any indication, his determination to bounce back remains unquestioned.
