Jaka Bijol shows true colours with classy message after Leeds United transfer

New Leeds United defender Jaka Bijol has penned a classy goodbye message to former club Udinese upon the completion of his move to Elland Road.

The 26-year-old has signed a five-year deal with Leeds and becomes the second new arrival of the summer transfer window. Striker Lukas Nmecha will officially become a Leeds player on July 1.

The move for Bijol will see Leeds pay a fee of around £15 million. It also brings to an end a three-year spell for the defender with Udinese.

In that time, he played 95 times for the club, scoring five goals. In a message to Udinese shortly after confirmation of his transfer to Leeds, the defender wrote:

“I want to thank you all for the incredible 3 years I've spent in this beautiful city and this beautiful club... It's been years of ups and downs for everyone, but for those experiences I am forever grateful.

“Thank you Udinese Calcio for the trust you have placed in me since the first day and especially thank you to all the teammates and the staff who made every day the best club!

"I’ve always given my all for the black and white shirt and I’m forever grateful for all the support!

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Jaka.”

Bijol will have the chance to make his debut for Leeds when they take on rivals Manchester United in their first pre-season game. The match will take place on Saturday, July 19 in Stockholm, Sweden with kick-off at 2pm.

His first competitive game for the club will come in the Premier League opener against Everton at Elland Road. The match will be played on Monday, August 18 with kick-off at 8pm.
