Jonny Evans is a Manchester United legend who was been associated with United for over 10 years.
However, his time at the Red Devils has been split up over two spells.
During his time with Manchester United, he made over 150 appearances for the Red Devils. This included spells under some of the best managers in the world including Sir Alex Ferguson and current United boss Ruben Amorim.
He has won everything from the UEFA Champions League to the Premier League and even the FIFA Club World Cup.
Earlier in the transfer window, Evans announced his retirement from professional football following the 2024-25 season.
This followed a second spell at Old Trafford after re-joining the club in 2022.
This retirement looked to be the last time we would see Jonny Evans associated with Manchester United in a football context.
However, now it has emerged that Jonny Evans will continue his spell at Manchester United.
But, this will not be in a playing context.
Instead, it will be in the management department of Manchester United.
This is because the United legend has agreed a new role at the club where he will look after youth loans, help place players at clubs and offer them support through the process. This is according to journalist Laurie Whitwell.
This new role will give more responsibility to the UEFA Super Cup winner. This job is also arguably more professional than his role as a player.
However, it will also give him the opportunity to develop youth players through making the best and most accurate choices in a youth player’s career.
Do you think that Evans will be successful in this role? Or, would Evans be more suited in another role away from football? Only time will tell in this situation.
