The Baltimore Ravens didn’t need to add more firepower to their CB room.
However, the rich always get richer in this league, and whenever a star player becomes available, contending teams just have to roll the dice on them.
That’s why they went after Jaire Alexander, who was just let go by the Green Bay Packers.
Alexander will join a stacked defense and a strong CB corps.
Even so, fellow star Kyle Hamilton knows he’s going to make them better.
When asked about his new teammate, Hamilton tipped his hat to who he believes to be one of the best defensive backs in the game:
> “Great addition,” Hamilton [said](https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/marlon-humphrey-kyle-hamilton-john-harbaugh-reaction-jaire-alexander) of Alexander. “He’s been one of the best in this league since he got in it. To have anybody like that, no matter what position, especially as a DB, it’s super valuable.”
Alexander’s talent and competitiveness have never been doubted.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to stay on the field as much as the Packers wanted, which is why they eventually chose to move on from him.
Of course, there were also some character-related issues, and it seemed like their relationship was already estranged and had reached a breaking point at the end of last season.
But from a talent and impact perspective, it’s hard to choose five cornerbacks who are unequivocally better than him, at least when he’s healthy.
The Ravens could afford to make this move because they already have a strong defense.
If the former All-Pro manages to stay on the field, or at least be healthy in the playoffs, he could be a huge pickup for this organization.
He should have a huge chip on his shoulder, and this is the kind of move that could turn a good team into a great one.
