Video shows family of Pacers fans being harassed outside Thunder arena after Game 7

Not all Oklahoma City Thunder fans celebrated their NBA championship victory with class.

Video went viral on TikTok this week of a family of Indiana Pacers fans getting harassed outside of Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, O.K. after Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday. After the game, which the Thunder won 103-91 to claim the NBA title, a mother and son wearing yellow Pacers gear were leaving the arena.

The video showed the two being followed and harassed by Thunder fans who were filming and yelling at them. At one point, the son had his Pacers hat snatched off his head, causing a scene. The two eventually managed to escape the area but were still being followed by the Oklahoma City fans as the clip ended.

You can see the troubling video at the link here.

It is worth noting that the incident depicted in the video occurred outside the arena and thus may not have been indicative of all the Thunder fans who attended the game and celebrated inside of the arena with grace and class. Furthermore, troublemakers will always be present in any sports fanbase, especially in the current online era of content creating and clout chasing.

But that was definite loser behavior from the Thunder fans who were shown in that video. For Pacers fans, they had to witness a brutal moment with franchise player Tyrese Haliburton in the early stages of Game 7, and some of them were even subjected to harassment as they tried to leave the arena following their team’s loss.
