The Oklahoma City Thunder are much better at basketball than they are at alcohol.
The Thunder beat the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night to win the championship. Their players got the chance to celebrate at home, and they got the opportunity to arty with some beer. Chet Holmgren planned to celebrate with some Michelob Ultra beverages. But the way he pronounced “Michelob” when talking about the beer at his postgame press conference sure was something.
“For now I got my Michelob Ultra joints. And these work more than fine,” Holmgren said.

Holmgren pronounced “Michelob” like “mishelobe,” or how someone would say “Michelle.” Someone should tell him the “H” should be treated like a “K” to give a “Mickelobe” sound.
Not only does Holmgren not know how to pronounce Michelob, but the Thunder players didn’t even know how to pop a champagne bottle either. They had to be taught that by Alex Caruso.
The Thunder became used to winning a lot this season. The celebration part is something newer for them, but now they’re getting some experience with that too. They should be well prepared for next season if they go far again.
