Last night, Celtics completed a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers in guard players department.
As Shams Charania of ESPN reported, Jrue Holiday is the first Celtic moved from the roster.
Holiday was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Anfernee Simons and two selections in the second round.
Simons joins Boston on an expiring contract, while Holiday is owed around $72 million in 2026-27 and 2027-28. The deal saves Boston $40 million in luxury tax payments next season, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.
