Nottingham Forest appear to be stepping up their attempts to bring new players to the football club this summer.
Nuno Espirito Santo is dreaming of European football on the banks of the River Trent next season, as the City Ground will welcome UEFA Conference League action.
First, however, some new players will need to be identified with Igor Jesus set to sign for Forest shortly after the Club World Cup.
Forest won’t want to leave themselves quite so short next season after running out of steam in 2024/25, and a better squad will be in the sights of Evangelos Marinakis.

Nottingham Forest want two Juventus players
Samuel Mbangulu has been linked with Forest before, and now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the club are eyeing a move for him along with his teammate Timothy Weah.
Both players are forwards, and it’s been claimed that negotiations are underway between Forest and Juventus as the two clubs try to tie up a deal pretty quickly.
ESPN journalist Matteo Moretto has gone a step further and claimed that Forest have actually agreed terms with Juventus to buy both players for around £21 million, with personal terms now to be agreed.
Mbangulu and Weah are both currently away with Juventus at the Club World Cup, but after two group games played, they’ve played a handful of minutes between them.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Mbangulu, 21, scored four goals and claimed five assists from 32 appearances in all competitions last season and typically operates on the left flank.
He has experience of featuring in the Champions League and is a product of the Juventus youth academy.
What Pele said about Timothy Weah
Mbangulu definitely looks like a future star, but Weah is the signing that would likely catch the eye a little bit more, given that his dad, George, famously won the Ballon d’Or back in 1995.
Not only that, but Weah had an admirer in the legendary Pele, who sang his praises during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
After scoring for the USA against Wales, he said on Instagram: “Congratulations, it was a beautiful goal. Keep dreaming, dreams come true.”
Weah has played in the United Kingdom before, following a 17-game loan spell with Celtic that saw him bag four goals at Parkhead.
The 25-year-old typically operates on the right side of the attack, although he showcased last season that he can also operate on the left, through the middle as a striker, or even as a wing-back.
Weah scored six goals and claimed five assists last season, and both players would definitely add something to the Forest squad should they sign in time for the new season.
