David Moyes could look to Aleksandar Mitrović to lead Everton’s line next season.
The 30-year-old has plenty of Premier League experience, having played for both Newcastle and Fulham, and has been in imperious form since moving to the Saudi Pro League.
Serbia’s record goalscorer would go a long way in helping Everton solve issues in their front line, which saw only the three relegated sides score fewer goals than the Toffees last season.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin set to depart, Moyes has made signing a striker the priority for this transfer window, and could be about to receive a welcome boost.

According to La Gazetta Dello Sport (22 June, page 14), Everton are ready to bid up to £38.5million to bring Mitrović to the Merseyside club this summer.

The Serbian only joined Al-Hilal two years ago for a club-record fee of £50m and has one year left on his contract.

Mitrović’s statistics at Al-Hilal
He is seen as an integral part of the Saudi team. However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that Mitrović would be willing to return to England and that Everton would have no issues agreeing personal terms with the striker.
“I’d think Mitrović would be interested in a return to the Premier League,” King said.
“He’d be a good buy for anybody as a front player. I think he would agree personal terms, without doubt. He proved that he could score goals in the Premier League when he was at Fulham.
“Therefore, I think he’d be an asset for Everton if they were to sign him this summer.”

Mitrović is a perfect Moyes striker
In his 27 years of management, Moyes has not deviated too far from his core principles, making it quite easy to assess which qualities fit the Scotsman’s mould.
The former United manager tends to go for players with excellent physical attributes, a hard work-rate, and an understanding of how to operate in the box, all qualities which Mitrović has in abundance.
The centre-forward’s goal-scoring record speaks for itself, but it is his combative nature and ability to dominate opponents that suit Moyes to a tee, and will endear him to Everton fans.
His ability to hold off defenders and bring others into play will also maximise the talents of technical players like Iliman Ndiaye, who would hugely benefit from playing off the big front man.
