Atalanta midfielder Mario Pasalic could potentially return to the Premier League with Leeds United this transfer window.

The 30-year-old signed for Chelsea in 2014 but didn’t play a competitive game for them and instead went out on several loan spells.

Daniel Farke will want to replace Joe Rothwell at the Whites, with the Bournemouth loanee returning to the Vitality Stadium.

Josuha Guilavogui’s departure from Elland Road has also left the German manager short on options in the engine room, and 49ers Enterprises may have a bargain reinforcement on their radar.

Pasalic’s Serie A record last season.

It’s been claimed that the Whites are considering making a move for the 30-year-old and hoping to sign him on a free transfer.

The 49ers should do everything in their power to finalise a deal for the former Chelsea ace, as they could soon be presented with a no-brainer opportunity.

Farke to transform Leeds midfield with Pasalic transfer

Ao Tanaka has been a revelation at Leeds after his impressive performances last season, cementing his place in the starting lineup.

The Japan international has exceeded expectations at the Whites after signing for a relatively low fee last summer.

After Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev picked up injuries in the previous campaign, the former Fortuna Dusseldorf midfielder grabbed his opportunity and didn’t look back.

Leeds have already signed Lukas Nmecha as a free agent, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the West Yorkshire outfit eyeing similar deals in the coming weeks.

The Whites arguably need several reinforcements in the squad this summer, and it makes sense to sign free agents who can contribute in the coming months.

Pasalic has developed into a quality player since his stint at Chelsea, and the increased competition in the Peacocks’ midfield with his arrival will only make others better.

The Croatian star’s decision in the coming weeks will be crucial to determine where his future lies.
