Wrexham are interested in a loan deal for Liverpool defender Owen Beck, according to a report by Mail Online.
Wrexham are set for their first season in the Championship after gaining consecutive promotions from the National League to the second tier in three seasons.
The Red Dragons finished 2nd in League One last campaign and didn’t look out of their depth once in the division. Next season could be a different story though, and the Welsh outfit must be prepared to spend a fair amount in this transfer window.

Phil Parkinson’s side will need to strengthen this summer if they are to compete in the Championship and may need to look into the loan market if certain players are out of their financial range.
Now, according to Mail Online, Wrexham are plotting a loan move for Liverpool defender Owen Beck. The 22-year-old spent last campaign on loan at Blackburn Rovers and featured 24 times, scoring once.
Mail Online’s report also indicates that Liverpool are not in any rush to give the green light to any potential move away this early in the off-season.
A solid Wrexham target
The Red Dragons won’t be shy in reinforcing their squad and building a team that is capable of causing problems in the Championship.
Beck is a Welsh U21 international with experience of playing second-tier football, which will be vital in the upcoming season. The Welsh side already have Lewis Brunt and Jacob Mendy available on the left, but Beck would be a solid option if Parkinson wants added quality.

The left-back missed most of the second half of last campaign due to injury, but was a prominent figure in the Blackburn squad beforehand. The youngster will therefore want a full season of consistent first-team football next year.
Busy window ahead for the Red Dragons
Wrexham have not been low spenders for the past three seasons now and that likely won’t change for this campaign too.
The step up from League One to the Championship is bigger than any of the divisions prior, so Parkinson’s side will need to improve their quality if they are to stand any chance of a strong season.

The Red Dragons have already confirmed the signing of Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie, who has proven to be an efficient scorer at this level so it’s a matter of making signings of a similar nature to stand them in good stead for their first season in the second tier.
