Former Barcelona star Pedro Rodriguez says he’d love to see [Pedri](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/26/24437123/pedri-reveals-his-perfect-match-of-barcelonas-season-after-winning-la-liga-and-the-copa-del-rey) win the Ballon d’Or this year after a brilliant season for the Catalans.
Pedri is one of several names in the frame to land the Golden Ball, although it’s thought he’s behind the likes of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
Yet Pedro says if it were up to him, he would give the prize to the Canary Islander.
> “Of course I would give Pedri the maximum score. Then Lamine Yamal. And perhaps other candidates who are there are Dembélé or Raphinha, but I would love for Pedri to win,” he told El Día de Tenerife

> “For us it is a pride and a pleasure to have another Tenerife and Canarian in the elite of football, carrying it as he is carrying it, with exemplary behavior and always giving everything on the field. For me there is no doubt: he is the best in his position in the entire world.”
The Ballon d’Or will be awarded in October, with Yamal and PSG’s Ousmane Dembele the current favorites.
