Report: What Feyenoord insiders now think about Hugo Bueno transfer as Wolves take big decision

Many eyes are on how Wolves will respond after selling Rayan Ait-Nouri – and Hugo Bueno has very much come into focus over the past couple of weeks.

Ait-Nouri left in a £36 million deal, which has drawn criticism in the Wolves sphere.

Many felt that was far too cheap for a player of his quality, and the sale of Ait-Nouri could come back to haunt Wolves.

Wolves have been linked with a number of players to potentially succeed Ait-Nouri.

Clement Bischoff is thought to be on Wolves’ radar, having impressed at Brondby.

And Gerard Martin of Barcelona is another player Wolves have looked at.

But Hugo Bueno is already a Wolves player and has been tipped to be a natural successor to Ait-Nouri – and the club have now made a big decision on him.

It has been reported by 1908.nl that Wolves are currently adamant that Bueno will not be leaving Molineux this summer.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

Bueno, of course, has just returned following a productive loan spell.

He made 30 appearances across all competitions for the Dutch giants, and drew praise from Robin van Persie towards the end of the season.

Van Persie was impressed by Bueno’s mindset.

1908.nl are reporting that insiders at Feyenoord are already accepting that they will now need to move on and find an alternative to play on the left.

They did not even get a chance to present a formal proposal, with insiders feeling the feasibility of a new move is ‘nil’.

It had been reported in recent days that Feyenoord intended to try and sign Bueno either on loan again or permanently. So this is a big blow to them.

Wolves could still sign a new left-back

So it appears that Wolves will not be sanctioning an exit for Bueno just at the moment.

But this does not mean that Wolves won’t go out and land a new left-back.

Pereira will look at Bueno in pre-season, but it’s possible the Portuguese could still go out and bring someone else in.

Wolves have just lost a lot of output with the exit of Ait-Nouri.

So the Wolves manager may want a new signing to compete with Bueno.
