The return of NBA on NBC is scheduled for next season, welcome news for fans of the popular television show, which debuted back in October of 1954.
The show took a hiatus from 1962 to 1990, ran through 2002 and is expected to return beginning in October 2025.
On Monday, NBC announced Maria Taylor as the network's lead NBA and WNBA host for next season, news that prompted a message from Taylor to her fans.

"The return is sweet. See you soon! @NBAonNBC," Taylor wrote on her X account Monday.
The Cookeville, Tennessee native has worked for ESPN and the SEC Network covering college volleyball, college football, the NBA, NFL, and both men's and women's college basketball.
Fans reacted with excitement to her announcement.
"Will you still be doing college football!?! We need you there too!" one fan asked.
"Congrats Maria. No doubt the Lord has equipped you for such a time as this. All the best," another fan added.
"Congratulations Maria! An honor you've worked hard for!" another said.
"Can't wait to see you anchor the coverage," another said.
