[Real Madrid](https://www.managingmadrid.com) defender Raul Asencio published a post on his Instagram account, sharing some of what he’s feeling right now after two consecutive mistakes in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
“It hasn’t been the start to the competition I was looking for, but I have no doubt that I will turn things around. It’s time to work even harder to keep growing. Thank you all for your messages,” he wrote.
Asencio was sent off in the 7th minute of the game against Pachuca, putting Real Madrid’s campaign to conquer the FIFA Club World Cup in jeopardy. However, the team found a way to earn a gritty win and now Asencio will have to find a way to improve his form and compete for a starting spot with Rudiger, who has already recovered from the knee injury which sidelined him in the opening game against Al Hilal.
