It is reportedly the intention of Chelsea to sell former Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka this summer, if they can find a club willing to buy the 21-year-old.

Chukwuemeka left Villa in the summer of 2022 . The Blues paid Villa £20m for the England youth international, who joined the Lions as a boy when making the move from Northampton Town in 2016.

Chukwuemeka played 13 times for Dortmund, scoring once in a win over Freiburg.

His loan has been extended to include the Club World Cup; Chukwuemeka is currently in the States taking part in the competition and has already made substitute appearances in the draw with Brazilian side Fluminense and the victory over South African outfit Mamelodi Sundowns.

it is the intention of Chelsea to sell the player this summer, despite the fact he has three years remaining on his Stamford Bridge contract and irrespective of whether or not Dortmund take up their option to make the existing loan move a permanent arrangement.

The report adds that the Blues will also look to sell Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, Renato Veiga, Armando Broja and former Villa loanee Axel Disasi this summer as Enzo Maresca aims to trim his squad to make more room on the wage-bill for his own signings ahead of their Champions League stint.
