Player said to have accepted€10m wage offer to leave Manchester United

According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce are closing in on a deal for Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Super Lig side in recent weeks, with the player looking surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Sabah report on Fenerbahce’s pursuit for Sancho, and growing optimism they may get their man.

It’s claimed the Manchester United winger has agreed a salary of €10m a season, a figure likely to be after tax. That’s made easier for Fenerbahce to achieve than clubs in other countries due to a lower level of tax for footballers in Turkey.

Negotiations have commenced with the Premier League side as they look to come to an agreement over his transfer fee. Manchester United are keen to get Sancho off their wage bill due to his high salary, which will strengthen Fenerbahce’s arm in talks.

Journalist Orazio Accomand claims an offer of €18m has been tabled by Fenerbahce and even though there is interest from Serie A, the Super Lig side have offered better wages. He reports a €12m salary has been offered to the forward, over a possible four years.

Sancho spent last season on loan at Chelsea, but his performances haven’t been enough to earn him a permanent transfer. Subsequently the London club paid a £5m penalty to send the player back to Manchester United.

Sancho made 39 appearances whilst out on loan at Chelsea, scoring four goals.
