Ashley Young has caused a social media frenzy among Aston Villa fans.
The former England international is coming into the summer without a club after departing Everton at the end of his contract.
This marks two years since his last Villa Park spell came to an end, with many calling for a third stint in claret and blue next season.
It is fair to say that the 39-year-old has added fuel to that fire with a message shared via Instagram, which sent the B6 faithful haywire.

There is no doubt about how much of a club legend the wide man is, with “Forever Young” donning the Holte End alongside Unai Emery.
As a result, it is little surprise that supporters were left delighted by the potential of the Englishman’s return before the new season.

Young himself teased this on social media as he sent a message to his Instagram story replying to an official Villa post, throwing it back to when he signed for a second time.

He said: “Four years ago. Maybe another one,” accompanied by three-eye emojis, alluding to a move that could potentially be in the pipeline.
That could see a move back to the Midlands be possible, something which may make complete sense for all parties as an experienced head in the dressing room and positive competition in the full-back roles.
As excited as fans may be with the potential of this move, it looks as if a move isn’t on the cards as things stand in B6.
This comes after a source close to Young, speaking on this social media message, exclusively revealed to Villa News that “people are reading into it a bit too much.”

Young to Aston Villa not in the pipeline
There has been widespread discussion among supporters that a player-coach role could be possible for the ex-Manchester United man moving forward.
It seems clear that this isn’t on the table right now, despite the comment from the 2008-09 PFA Young Player of the Year winner.
This may prove to be good news for someone like Lucas Digne, who may have been fearing for his place in the squad as the summer window moves deeper.
It won’t be music to the ears of the B6 faithful, however, as hopes of Young’s return were certainly the main talking point for fans across many days.
