The summer transfer window always has a number of twists and turns, especially when Arsenal are involved
Indeed, it’s never easy to predict what’s going to happen in any summer window as clubs and players pivot, renege on agreements and change their minds.
Arsenal have had so many situations like this over the years.
Viktor Gyokeres is a wanted man this summer, and he’s had a difficult situation this past few weeks.
Gyokeres had a gentleman’s agreement to leave Sporting for a certain fee this summer, but it would appear that agreement has now gone up in smoke.
The striker is in a difficult situation right now, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the forward is very upset with how everything has panned out.

Viktor Gyokeres ‘heartbroken’ over Sporting situation
Romano shared an update on Gyokeres.
According to the journalist, Gyokeres has told the Sporting president that he really wants to leave the club, and, apparently, he’s heartbroken by this current situation.
Gyokeres has given Sporting two years of great service, but now, his time in Lisbon looks set to end on a sour note.
🚨⚠️ Viktor Gyökeres has already personally informed Sporting president Varandas about his decision to leave, no intention to play for the club anymore.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this comes after Arsenal made a £56m bid for Gyokeres last week that was knocked back by Sporting.
Gyokeres has been telling family members he’s joining Arsenal, but his path to the Emirates has been blocked by his current club.
Gyokeres is having his pathway to Arsenal blocked, and this is a path that many players have been down over the years.
Indeed, there are a number of players in history who have regretted not being able to get their move to Arsenal.
Yaya Toure regretted not signing for Arsenal after work permit issues blocked his move, while Mykhaylo Mudryk was said to be devastated when his move to Arsenal collapsed.
On top of that, Tammy Abraham’s family wanted him to join Arsenal at one point, and he never made that move.
The chance to sign for a club like Arsenal is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and Gyokeres may be having that opportunity stolen directly from him as we speak.
