Di Marzio: Allegri approves of Arsenal man as Theo Hernandez replacement – the reasons

With the sale of Theo Hernandez now imminent, AC Milan are beginning to th ink about who could replace him at left-back.

According to the latest from Di Marzio, negotiations are continuing between Milan and Al-Hilal for Theo Hernandez. There have been positive contacts between the two clubs on the transfer fee, after an agreement with the defender over personal terms was found.

There are still some details to be sorted out between the two clubs but the aim is to close the deal quickly, and the base transfer fee will be around €25m, with bonuses on top. Now, the hunt to replace him begins.

Theo out, Zinchenko in?

Speaking on Sky (via MilanNews) last night during the Calciomercato l’Originale programme, Di Marzio added some further information about a target the Rossoneri have in mind: Oleksandr Zinchenko of Arsenal.

“Zinchenko is a profile that the new coach appreciates a lot. In fact, Allegri, who appreciates his tactical versatility above all, would have given the ok for this operation. He remains a hot name,” he said.

The Ukraine international has just one year left on his deal so the transfer fee should not be a problem for Milan. In the meantime, there continues to be links with more ambitious profiles, like Destiny Udogie of Spurs and Maxim De Cuyper of Club Brugge.
