Arsenal Noni Madueke Interest Grows Amid Chelsea Transfer Talks

Chelsea Open to Arsenal Noni Madueke Interest Amid Restructuring Plans

Arsenal are one of several leading clubs keeping tabs on Noni Madueke situation amid growing uncertainty over his future ahead of the summer transfer window. The 23-year-old, signed from PSV Eindhoven for a reported £29million in January 2023, has failed to nail down a regular place in the side under a succession of Blues bosses.

In new head coach Enzo Maresca, Madueke has an extra body to compete against in the wide department with the likes of Cole Palmer, Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, and newly back from loan Omari Hutchinson also in that group. And with Chelsea looking to cut their squad and be prudent with regard to Financial Fair Play (FFP) they could be ready to listen to offers for players on the fringes of the starting XI.

During the 2024–25 season, Madueke played 31 times in all competitions, scoring 5 goals and registering 3 assists. Although his extravagance on the ball remains a highlight, his tactical indiscipline and tendency to go missing in the big games are said to have irked staff behind the scenes. Sources close to the club claim Chelsea would be open to offers in the region of £30–35m, particularly if they are able to secure the signing of another versatile forward ahead of pre-season.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are looking for some attacking reinforcements, most notably on the right wing. Bukayo Saka has played a lot of football over the past three seasons, so the Gunners are also looking for a profile that can offer an alternative on the bench and some relief. Noni Madueke, a product of the Tottenham youth system, provides Premier League experience and is considered by Arsenal internally as a high-upside project than an immediate starter.

Multiple Clubs Join Race for the English Winger

Arsenal are keeping tabs on the situation, but they are not the only club doing so. Crystal Palace and West Ham United have also shown interest, with Villa appearing the keenest of the trio as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League. If Michael Olise leaves Palace this summer, the club may turn to Madueke as a domestic alternative should they fail to land targets overseas.

Chelsea have yet to reach a final conclusion on Madueke, however discussions are still ongoing. His deal runs through June 2030, which gives the club a lot of negotiating leverage but also puts extra emphasis on try to milk some value out of him now if he’s not in Maresca’s long-term plans.

Chelsea’s board acknowledge that Madueke is an asset. But having the right-footed Cole Palmer secured on the right and Maresca liking inverted wingers who make runs off the ball, Madueke’s ball-dominant style might not align with the new tactical direction.

Arsenal would be more comfortable reaching an agreement under £35 million, with add-ons playing a part. How much could come down to how willing they are to sell to a direct Premier League rival, and certainly one that only finished second in the league and remains a huge threat in domestic competitions.

Author’s Opinion

From Chelsea’s point of view, releasing Madueke is not a big deal if he’s not going to be a big player under Maresca. They must dump the squad congestion and free up the financial bandwidth. It would dovetail with that strategy to sell a non-core player that still presents market value.

Noni Madueke, for Arsenal, would be a typical low-risk, high-reward player. He is homegrown, still young and capable of picking through rubberized defenses with his dribbling. Under Mikel Arteta, he could thrive in a structured, development-focused environment.

But his tactical discipline and ability to deliver consistently in high-stakes games remain a question-mark. For Arsenal, if they decide to act, such a move would represent the intention to bring greater depth while nurturing potential. The interest is real, and this could quietly become one of the more intriguing transfer stories of the summer.
