Report: Man Utd have bid for 'world-class' star rejected, Ineos not prepared to pay…

Manchester United have seen their first bid for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin rejected, Spanish outlet Fichajes has claimed.

The Red Devils reportedly submitted an initial offer for the Ukrainian shot-stopper, but it fell short of Real’s valuation, which stands at around €20-25m (£17-21m).

United are believed to be keen on signing a new goalkeeper this summer amid concerns over Andre Onana’s form, and have identified Lunin as a low-cost option.

The 26-year-old, who joined Real Madrid from Zorya Lugansk in 2018, is under contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2030, having signed a long-term extension last year.

According to Fichajes, Lunin is not guaranteed to stay at Real this summer, despite signing a new six-year deal with the Spanish club in October.

The ‘world-class’ 26-year-old shot-stopper remains behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order and could consider a move to play regular football, with multiple European clubs on alert.

Serie A giants AC Milan are also believed to be interested, while Man United are understood to have held preliminary talks with the player's representatives but remain unwilling to pay a 'significant' fee for his arrival.

Lunin made 14 appearances across all competitions for Real last season, conceding 19 goals and keeping six clean sheets.

Man United remain focused on securing their second summer signing, with talks ongoing for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo.

The Red Devils are believed to have submitted a new bid for the Cameroonian forward, worth in excess of £60m, as they look to pair him with Matheus Cunha in Ruben Amorim’s frontline next season.
