There were seven women’s players out on loan in 2024/25, and we’ve taken a look at how they got on at their respective clubs.
Teyah Goldie and Freya Godfrey
It was a fantastic season for Goldie and Godfrey with London City Lionesses, who won the Women’s Championship to earn promotion to the Women’s Super League. It was a significant improvement for a side that had finished eighth in the previous campaign.
Goldie got one goal in 20 league appearances for London City Lionesses, while Godfrey featured on eight occasions in the second tier. The former also played against us in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup round of 16.
For our first team, Godfrey came on for six minutes in December’s 3-1 win away to Valerenga, meaning she played her part in our UEFA Women’s Champions League-winning campaign.
Goldie’s permanent departure from us was announced last month.
Michelle Agyemang
Leading the line for Brighton & Hove Albion, Agyemang scored five goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Seagulls last season.
That earned her first call-up to the England senior squad, replacing an injured Alessia Russo in April. She scored just 41 seconds into her Lionesses debut against Belgium, and has been included in Sarina Wiegman’s squad for UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
Vivienne Lia and Laila Harbert
Lia and Harbert were on loan at Southampton, who came eighth in the Women’s Championship last season. In January, Lia put pen to paper on her first professional contract with us and, at international youth level, she’s recently been representing the Lionesses at the UEFA Women’s under-19s Euros.

Both players made nine appearances for Saints between January and June.
Madison Earl
Another player who signed their first professional contract with us in January, Earl spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield United, where she made five league appearances as the Blades finished bottom of the Women’s Championship.
Laura Wienroither
Wienroither was on loan at Manchester City for the second half of 2024/25, making eight appearances in all competitions as they finished fourth in the WSL.
At international level she has continued to be called up by Austria, representing them recently in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
