Manchester United have suffered a blow in the transfer market as Barcelona swooped to sign FC Copenhagen sensation Roony Bardghji.
Barcelona are set to secure a bargain €2million (£1.7m), plus add-ons and a sell-on clause, deal to sign the talented 19-year-old winger, whose contract at Copenhagen is set to expire at the end of the calendar year.
It’s reported that Barca’s sporting director Deco met the player’s agent on Monday, beating a plethora of top European clubs to his signature.
Bardghji missed much of last season with an ACL injury, only returning at the end of the season for the Superliga Championship Round, which shelved any plans for a move last summer.
However, the season before, he scored 11 goals in 37 games in all competitions, including against United in the Danish club’s 4-3 win against the Red Devils in the Champions League group stage.

United, under Erik ten Hag, saw exactly the quality and promise that Bardghji possess, but they will seemingly be left to rue that they didn’t make a move for the teenager sooner.
A bargain deal for a player with such a high ceiling would have been a good piece of business for Ruben Amorim, as he looks to rebuild the squad following a wretched season last campaign.
But United have eyes elsewhere in the market, reportedly launching a fresh bid for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo in excess of £60m with the deal restructured to see Brentford receive more money up front as they look to beat Tottenham to his signature.
The 25-year-old favours a move to Old Trafford, but the appointment of his former Bees boss Thomas Frank in North London saw Spurs enter the race and launch a bid of their own to rival United.
However, it’s said that Amorim and Old Trafford chiefs want the deal wrapped up before pre-season, allowing the Portuguese boss the time to work with Mbeumo and integrate him into the squad and his tactical plans.
