**Spain and Germany's Under-19s put on quite the show in the U19 European Championships last night, and Newcastle United's incoming teen sensation was right in the middle of it.**

Antonio Cordero, who is set to officially join Newcastle United next week, was heavily involved in the stunning 11-goal thriller, which saw Spain book their place in the final against the Netherlands.

Last night's game finished 6-5 after extra time, with three of those goals coming in second-half stoppage time to ensure another 30 minutes of action.

While Cordero was substituted at 81 minutes, he had a pretty solid game, except for one first-half blunder which could have changed the entire flow of the game.

Antonio Cordero takes the spot kick for Spain last night

On 34 minutes, Pablo Garcia was brought down in the area and Spain were awarded a penalty. Cordero stepped up to fire a [powerful](https://www.uefa.com/under19/match/2044910--spain-vs-germany/) effort to the goalkeeper's right.

Unfortunately, the 'keeper guessed the right way and the spot-kick was saved. Had he scored, he'd have brought Spain level, who were trailing 1-0 at that point in the game.

Thankfully, the miss didn't knock the 18-year-old's confidence, and he went on to put in a good shift for the Spanish side, floating in two accurate crosses and providing two key passes.

Newcastle could potentially have two European Championship winners in the club this summer

Though Cordero never got his name on the scoresheet, he will get another chance to be a hero when Spain takes on the Netherlands in the final on Thursday evening.

Imagine the buzz around the place if Antonio Cordero comes into Newcastle United off the back of winning the European Championships.

Let's add Tino Livramento doing the same for the U21S too, and Benton will be a fun place to come back to on 7th July.
