FRISCO - A year ago, in terms of roster building, the Dallas Cowboys literally did virtually nothing outside of the NFL Draft.
And it showed, the team allowing a dozen veterans to walk, with no real replacements behind them ... and then combined with Dak Prescott's injury a 7-10 record to show for it all ...
And then an as-predicted "Blow It Up'' of the coaching staff and the roster.
This offseason? About a dozen guys were added instead of subtracted. New coach Brian Schottenheimer has replaced Mike McCarthy. Spirits are high ...
But the Philadelphia Eagles are higher.
Despite capturing Super Bowl LIX just months ago, there is to some a narrative focusing on what the Eagles have lost, roster-wise. And yet ...
CBS senior writer Pete Prisco released his top 100 NFL players for 2025, and Philadelphia leads all 32 NFL franchises with an impressive 10 players earning spots on the prestigious list.
Meaning? The Eagles' roster remains loaded.
Leading the charge is Saquon Barkley at third overall after his historic 2,005-yard rushing season that helped deliver the Super Bowl title.
Dallas' total on the list? A perfectly respectable four, with Micah Parsons (10th), CeeDee Lamb (27th), Dak Prescott (90th) and Tyler Smith (98th) earning recognition.
But 10 Eagles? That's remarkable.
And it feels right.
Philly's situation merits context. Yes, Philadelphia lost valuable contributors like Josh Sweat and Darius Slay. But the Eagles depth suggests they'll survive. Indeed, having more players in the top 100 than any other NFL team suggests the foundation remains incredibly strong.
The Cowboys may have rebuild themselves to the point where they can put 7-10 behind them. But a "rebuild'' is inferior to a "reload,'' and that's what the Eagles seem to have done ... again.
