Arsenal have Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes firmly on their radar.
The North Londoners’ priority at the moment is to sign a new striker, and a lot of work is going on behind the scenes to land one of Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko.
TBR Football revealed that Andrea Berta is working on a deal for Rodrygo as well and is prepared to make him one of Arsenal’s highest earners if he agrees to join them.
But, what do the decision-makers at Arsenal really think about the Real Madrid winger?
Fabrizio Romano says everyone at Arsenal has the same feeling about Rodrygo
Rodrygo Goes would be a statement signing for Arsenal.
The Gunners haven’t signed a superstar player from a European giant since Mesut Ozil over a decade ago. They could finally have the chance to do it this summer.
Reports have claimed that Real Madrid could sell Rodrygo for a fee of over £70 million, which is a decent figure for a player of his stature.
Romano has now claimed that the Brazilian is the ‘dream target’ — not just for Mikel Arteta and the coaching staff but for the board as well.
Everyone at Arsenal believes that Rodrygo would be a brilliant signing.
Romano said in a video on his YouTube channel: “Arsenal love Rodrygo. When I say Arsenal, it’s about the management, it’s about the coach, it’s about Mikel Arteta.
“They consider Rodrygo as a fantastic player, a dream target as a winger, also because they feel Nico Williams is impossible to reach this summer.
“Rodrygo, he remains a strong name, for sure, in the list at Arsenal.”
Rodrygo to Arsenal is only possible on one condition
Real Madrid’s asking price is not the biggest problem for Arsenal, and neither are his wages.
The Gunners are confident that they can get the Brazilian, but for that to happen, he has to decide to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
In the same video, Romano claimed that Rodrygo, who joined the Galacticos for £39 million in 2019 (Goal), will only be on the market if he goes to Real Madrid and tells them that he wants to leave.
If he doesn’t do that, there is a high chance that Xabi Alonso will just keep him in his squad.
