Jaka Bijol is now officially a Leeds United player… and can finally go on honeymoon.
In mid June, we covered reports from Italy which stated the defender’s move from Udinese to Leeds United was on the verge of being agreed, after it had stalled over the previous week.
There’d been some worry among Whites fans about why the deal was taking so long to be agreed. We checked in the Slovenia media to see if they had an angle on it, and sure enough… there were articles about Bijol getting married the previous weekend.
That had been the pause on proceedings and once that was out of the way, Leeds United, Udinese and Bijol’s camp all came to an agreement.
Bijol was announced by the newly promoted Premier League side on Monday, and now he can finally go through with something else which had been paused… his honeymoon.
Slovenia’s Vecer managed to get a few words from the defender as he quite literally boarded the plane.
They quote the Leeds United player as saying: “I can say that I am happy about the new challenge and I can’t wait for the new season to start, when I hope to have great support from Slovenia as well.”
