Emi Martinez wants to join Manchester United from Aston Villa but the Red Devils are yet to make a move for the Argentine goalkeeper, with Andre Onana expected to stay

Andre Onana wants to stay at Manchester United and prove he deserves to remain their No.1. Onana's future at United was called into question after Monaco enquired about the goalkeeper's situation, with a view to moving for him.
But Onana has told friends he wants to stay put at United and fight to keep his first-choice status, despite two erratic seasons between the posts. Although a change of goalkeeper was not viewed as a priority at United this summer, the club are willing to listen to offers for every one of their players after last season’s shambolic campaign and pressures from profit and sustainability rules.
Onana, signed from Inter Milan for £47.2million two years ago, has been error-prone at United, but that did not stop Monaco from enquiring about him. Cameroon star Onana is currently on holiday but gave a cryptic reply when asked if he could leave United this summer. “Will I leave?” said Onana. “I don't know, we'll see.”
But sources close to the 29-year-old stopper revealed his desire to remain at United, despite the interest from Monaco and clubs in the Saudi Pro League, where he could more than double his current £120,000-a-week salary.
Aston Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez is pushing for a move to United, but the Red Devils have so far made no move for the Argentina World Cup winner and are not understood to be actively looking to recruit a replacement for Onana.
United's immediate focus is on securing a deal for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo and signing a striker, although boss Ruben Amorim's first-choice target, Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, prefers a move to Arsenal.
Monaco keepers Philipp Kohn and Radoslaw Majecki did not convince the club's hierarchy last season, which has led the club's CEO, Thiago Scuro, to look for a new first-choice keeper this summer.

Amorim briefly dropped Onana last season but gave a firm response when asked if the club needed to sign a new goalkeeper. "We need to improve every position on the field; goalkeeper is the same," the United manager said.
"If our team scores more goals and our strikers are better, we will defend better. Sometimes you have a season where you are underperforming. We are going to make that evaluation for any position in the squad."
