Manchester United are coming off the back of what has to be considered their worst season for a generation.
Ruben Amorim took Manchester United to the bottom-half of the Premier League last season, and they need a lot of work this summer if they’re going to get back to where they believe they belong.
United’s transfer business is already underway, and, unsurprisingly, the main focus is on improving their attack.
Matheus Cunha has been signed, while Bryan Mbeumo is a top target for United too.
Viktor Gyokeres is also wanted as United look to sign a new number nine.
Rasmus Hojlund was heavily criticised last season, but according to Charlotte Duncker, speaking on The Game Football Podcast, the view within Old Trafford is that Hojlund is actually better than most people think.

Manchester United thinks Rasmus Hojlund is underrated
Duncker shared how United view Hojlund.
According to the journalist, United would sell the striker at the right price, but there is a reluctance around letting the forward go, stating that people within the club genuinely think Hojlund is a better player than his performances reflect.
“Hojlund, obviously, if someone came in with a great fee for him and offered to take them off his hands, I think they’d accept it. But I think there’s this sort of reluctance and that they genuinely think that he’s a better player than what everyone’s seen,” Duncker said.
“So I think there’s a hope that maybe they can polish him over the summer and that we’re gonna see a Hoyland 2.0 next season. From what I’ve seen of him live, I’m not too sure about that.”
Gary Neville’s Rasmus Hojlund verdict
Manchester United may think Hojlund is underrated, but the view within the wider footballing world isn’t so kind.
Indeed, Hojlund has been heavily criticised as of late.
Tim Sherwood said Hojlund is basically useless as a player recently, while Gary Neville shared a damning verdict on Hojlund, claiming that he can’t even control a ball these days.
“Particularly Hojlund, he’s struggling like mad, the boy, he can’t control a ball, he can’t make a run, the service to him isn’t great,” Neville said.
The striker is bereft of confidence at the moment, and, sadly, it’s hard to see how he will regain that confidence anytime soon.
Internally, Manchester United still have belief that Hojlund will come good, but if he doesn’t start scoring goals soon, that confidence will quickly start to wane.
