Leeds United have already lost a crucial attacker this summer in Manor Solomon, and Everton are hoping to make that two as Angus Kinnear eyes a bargain raid on his old side.
Solomon has informed Tottenham that he wants to stay in London this summer, rather than join Leeds permanently despite his stunning loan last season. Solomon scored the goal that won the title.
With Thomas Frank now in charge at Tottenham, the new Spurs manager is likely to give a fresh start to all of the players at his disposal. Frank wants to take a look at Solomon before deciding to let him go.
Leeds are already one down from last season’s attacking weaponry, and Angus Kinnear wants to raid his old side for another. Dan James is currently contracted at Elland Road until the summer of 2026.

Angus Kinnear eyes bargain Everton raid for Dan James
Kinnear has swapped Leeds for Everton this summer after eight years at Elland Road. He oversaw two promotions at Leeds, but is now tasked with smoothing the transition of a takeover and stadium change.
According to a report from TeamTalk, Everton are plotting a move to land ‘long-term’ target James from Leeds with the Wales star’s contract yet to be sorted. Leeds are desperate to keep the speed machine.

James is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract and Kinnear’s Everton are hopeful of doing a deal on the cheap, a ‘cut-price’ move to land James. It is unclear how much Everton want to pay Leeds.
Dan James and Jack Harrison could end up swapping clubs
After two years on loan at Everton thanks to Victor Orta’s much-criticised relegation loan clause, winger Jack Harrison has returned to Leeds. Remarkably, he returns with three years still on his Leeds contract.

The winger signed a deal at Leeds months before relegation that will last until the summer of 2028. As things stand, Harrison will be a Leeds player next season, though it is expected the winger will be sold.

It could be that Leeds choose to keep Harrison however, and attempt to save themselves some money in bringing in a replacement, while James makes the surprise switch to Everton in the coming weeks.
That, incredibly, would see James face Leeds and Harrison go up against Everton in the opening weekend of the Premier League season. Leeds host Everton on August 18, a Monday night fixture in Yorkshire.
