Manchester United are looking to replace Rasmus Hojlund as their first-choice striker, with Christopher Nkunku once again being linked to Old Trafford.
The French striker emerged as a United candidate back in the winter transfer window as a swap-deal was considered to see Alejandro Garnacho head to Chelsea in place of Nkunku.
However, nothing materialised, with both players remaining firmly with their clubs.

Since then, Nkunku’s contributions for Chelsea have declined, with only one goal and one assist coming in 10 games.
The 27-year-old was also ruled out at the end of the season due to injury, with his last significant Premier League appearance being against Brentford at the start of April.
Now, with Alejandro Garnacho looking set to leave Old Trafford this summer, the idea of a swap has emerged once again, with Chelsea still keen on the Argentina international.
However, Manchester Evening News has revealed that it’s unlikely anything will materialise for Nkunku to Old Trafford, much like in the winter.

The report explains that whilst Christopher Nkunku is on United’s shortlist of strikers, he isn’t one of their prime targets this summer.
This season Nkunku registered 14 goals and five assists in 43 games, which is only marginally better that Hojlund’s ten goals and four assists in 52 games.
As such, it’s unlikely that United will put significant effort into a deal for the French forward with the Red Devils desperate to sign a prolific goalscorer.
Instead it’s understood that that United’s recruitment team are focusing on Nkunku’s fellow countryman Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt in a bid to upgrade from Hojlund.
With Bryan Mbeumo’s move from Brentford to Manchester United looking imminent, The Red Devils could be set for a completely new attacking trio for next season.
