Yann Bisseck release clause revealed

Manchester United’s transfer business is beginning to take shape as Ruben Amorim continues to reshape the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The arrival of Matheus Cunha has added firepower up front, but United remain far from finished in the market, with multiple positions still under review.

Midfield reinforcements are expected, and United are currently attempting to finalise a deal with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo — though negotiations over the fee continue.

A new striker remains high on the priority list, and reports suggest a loan move for a box-to-box midfielder could materialise before the Premier League curtain-raiser.

However, it’s at the back where the latest developments are unfolding, with United reportedly exploring defensive options following a double departure at centre-back.

Jonny Evans has officially retired, and Victor Lindelof has also left the club, meaning United have lost two senior right-footed central defenders.

Ruben Amorim favours a back three, and with numbers thinning, another centre-half may be required before the window closes — and one particular name is now in the frame.

Yann Aurel Bisseck, the 6ft 5in German defender currently at Inter Milan, has emerged as a strong target.

Yann Bisseck, 23, joined Inter from Danish side AGF in 2023 and has impressed in Serie A, becoming a regular in Simone Inzaghi’s back three.

His ability to play on the right of a three-man defence makes him a natural fit for Amorim’s system at Old Trafford, and his pace and comfort in wide areas only enhance his appeal.

Express now claim that Yann Bisseck has a release clause in his contract worth between €60 million and €70 million (£51.5m–£60m), though Inter are said to be open to selling below that figure to raise funds this summer.

While Bisseck is happy in Milan, the likelihood of him seeing out his Inter deal — which runs until 2029 — is reportedly slim.

United’s move may depend on outgoings, with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho all available for transfer.

Any sale could open the door to landing Bisseck, who ticks every box for Amorim’s ideal defender.
