Gabriel Martinelli remains committed to Arsenal amid reports linking him with a potential summer move to Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga giants are actively searching for attacking reinforcements following the departure of Leroy Sané, who joined Turkish champions Galatasaray on a free transfer, despite interest from Arsenal. With Bayern manager Vincent Kompany missing out on several top targets, including Liverpool’s record signing Florian Wirtz, attention has now shifted to the Gunners’ Brazilian winger.

However, Martinelli is not seeking a move. According toThe Athletic, the 24-year-old is said to be content with his role under Mikel Arteta, having cemented his place as Arsenal’s first-choice left winger since 2022. The club’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, reportedly reaffirmed Martinelli’s importance to the team upon his arrival earlier this year, reinforcing the Brazilian’s status as a key member of Arteta’s squad.

Martinelli, who joined Arsenal in 2019 from Brazilian side Ituano for just £6 million, is under contract until 2027, with the club holding an option to extend by a further year. Given his age, form, and importance to the team, Arsenal are expected to demand at least £50 million for the forward should Bayern make a formal approach.

Since arriving in north London, Martinelli has made 225 appearances and played a pivotal role in the club’s resurgence under Arteta. While he remains settled, his future could become a talking point if Arsenal push forward with plans to bolster their attacking options this summer.

The Gunners are prioritising the signing of a new centre forward, with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško the leading candidates. Arsenal have also been exploring winger options, although their shortlist has been hit by setbacks.

Nico Williams opted to join Barcelona over Arsenal and Bayern, while Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has emerged as another target but his availability remains uncertain.

With alternatives narrowing, Arsenal have reportedly considered a move for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke. However, the Gunners are reluctant to meet Chelsea’s £50 million valuation. Madueke has shown glimpses of promise since joining the Blues, but he has yet to establish himself as a regular starter. The competition for places at Stamford Bridge is also set to increase, with the imminent arrival of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.

For now, Martinelli remains a central figure in Arsenal’s plans, but the evolving transfer landscape could force the club to make tough decisions before the window closes.
