Juma Bah playing for Lens
Manchester City defender Juma Bah will head on loan to French club Nice for the 2025/26 season after transfer talks. The 19-year-old weighed up a move to Lyon after meeting at the Etihad last week but has opted for the Cote d'Azur.
There, he could play Champions League football under manager Franck Haise after they finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season. That puts the club into the third qualifying round for the Champions League - two rounds away from the group stage.
Either way, Bah has moved upwards after spending the second half of last season on loan at Lens. Following a controversial January move to City from Valladolid - the Spanish club were unhappy with the way negotiations went as they were deprived of a bigger fee - he effectively replaced Abdukodir Khusanov at Lens and impressed.
With City already adding Khusanov and Vitor Reis to their centre-back options, there was no room for Bah in the City squad for the Club World Cup but there will definitely be eyes on him at Nice as they look to enjoy another successful season. Bah can enjoy a full pre-season with his new teammates to give him the best possible chance of making the impact that he wants.

Bah is expected to be one of many City loans this season that will be worth keeping an eye on. Guardiola needs to trim his squad for the season and Reis and Claudio Echeverri are among the players who could move for more regular football as they look to continue their development.
Asked last week about a potential move for Ilkay Gundogan amid interest from Galatasaray, the City manager replied: If he will not be part (of the squad), he would not be here.
"At the same time, we have – right now – too many players. Step by step maybe a few players are going to move.
"But, right now, Ilkay is absolutely part of my mind and the team."
